The only non-vegan ingredients in the Sambal Tumis Nenas (pineapple) is the Malaysian belacan - dried shrimp paste. We have a few contacts who are vegan and some who have allergy reaction towards belacan (shrimp paste). We do not want them to miss out on our sambal as such we have created Sambal Tumis Nenas Vegan.
Sambal Tumis Nenas Vegan from Hawa’s Artisan Kitchen uses locally sourced ingredients such as dried chilies, chunky pieces of pineapples grown in Lahad Datu, aromatics and vegan belacan made from soya and other plant-based produce.
Hawa’s Artisan Kitchen’s Sambal Tumis Nenas Vegan is a great condiment that serves as an appetizer that goes well with bread, rice, noodles and vegetable dishes.
Storage instructions:
- All HAK’s Sambal Collection contains NO preservatives. As such it is important to keep the sambals in refrigerator after opening.
- Use clean dry spoon (avoid using wet spoon to scoop the sambal) to maintain the quality of the sambal
- The sambal will turn to a harder consistency when being refrigerated due to the vegetable oil content in the sambal. Before eating, remove the sambal in advance to allow time for the oil to melt at room temperature or place the sambal over hot steaming dish, or you can pan heat the sambal on low heat flame or heat it in a microwave.
